Bare, Mitrovica
Bare ( sq-definite, Barja, ) is a village in the municipality of Mitrovica in the District of Mitrovica, Kosovo. According to the 2011 census, it had 841 inhabitants, all of whom were Albanian. It is part of the region Shala e Bajgorës. Mitrovica District (; sr-cyrl, Косовскомитровачки округ, ''Kosovskomitrovački okrug'') is one of the Districts of Kosovo, seven districts of Kosovo. The Kosovo War (; sr-Cyrl-Latn, Косовски рат, Kosovski rat) was an armed conflict in Kosovo that lasted from 28 February 1998 until 11 June 1999. Ambush Near Kosovska Mitrovica
The Ambush near Mitrovica (; ) was an incident that occurred on 8 January 1999, when members of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) ambushed a Yugoslav Interior Ministry convoy carrying rations to troops stationed in a field near Mitrovica. Later that evening, two columns of Yugoslav troops, accompanied with at least fifty tanks, set off in the direction of Mitrovica.
