Bangor Celtic F.C.
Bangor Celtic F.C. are an Irish association football club based in Crumlin, Dublin. They play in the Leinster Senior League Senior Division. History Bangor Celtic were founded in 1987 as a breakaway club from Cashel Villa. They originally located themselves at the playing field of Good Shepherd School in Rathfarnham shortly after the breakaway. They first entered the FAI Cup in 1999. In the 20th century, the club later moved to Iveagh Grounds in Crumlin, South Dublin. Bangor Celtic have been used as a feeder club to the League of Ireland Premier Division side Bohemians. They won their first Leinster Senior League Senior Division league title in 2005 and then won it again in 2009. Merge In 2019, Bangor Celtic merged with nearby Greenhills/Greenpark F.C. Iveagh Grounds
The Iveagh Grounds is a multi-purpose stadium, multi-purpose sports facility based in Drimnagh/Crumlin, Dublin. It is the home base of several sports clubs and teams who are associated with the Guinness Athletic Union. These include St James's Gate F.C. and St James Gaels GAA. It is named after Edward Guinness, 1st Earl of Iveagh, who purchased the site and then donated it to the union. Other clubs that play at the Iveagh Grounds include a field hockey club and a rugby union club. As well as St James's Gate F.C., two other List of association football clubs in the Republic of Ireland, association football clubs, Bangor Celtic F.C. and St. John Bosco F.C., also play home games at the Iveagh Grounds. Leinster Senior League Senior Division
The Leinster Senior League Senior Division is the top division of the Leinster Senior League. It is organized by the Leinster Football Association. Together with the Munster Senior League Senior Premier Division, it forms the third level of the Republic of Ireland football league system. Formed in 1896, it is the oldest association football league in what is now the Republic of Ireland. Shelbourne have won the most titles. However, in more recent seasons Crumlin United, Cherry Orchard, Wayside Celtic and Bangor Celtic have been the divisions strongest teams. In 2014–15 Bluebell United were Leinster Senior League champions, 27 years after winning their previous title. The Football Association of Ireland Senior Challenge Cup (FAI Cup), known as the Sports Direct FAI Cup for sponsorship reasons, is a knock-out association football competition contested annually by teams from the Republic of Ireland (as well as Derry City F.C., Derry City from Northern Ireland).
