Bandeira is a Brazilian municipality located in the state of Minas Gerais. Its population was estimated to be 4,766 people living in a total area of 484 km2. Economy and geography Bandeira is located 37 km northeast of Almenara, just south of the boundary with the state of Bahia. Highway connections are poor making the region isolated. Almenara, Minas Gerais
Almenara, is a municipality in the northeast of the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais. Situated on the Jequitinhonha River it is the largest city in that river valley. Its 2020 population was estimated at 42,143 and the municipal area was 2,301 km². It was founded on 13 January 1938. In 1981 the city was made the seat of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Almenara. Geography The elevation is 248 meters. The postal code is 39900-000. The distance to the state capital, Belo Horizonte, is 744 kilometers. Almenara is also the center of the Immediate Geographic Region of Almenara. The municipality contains a small amount of the Mata Escura Biological Reserve, created in 2003.
