Ballymena Academy
Ballymena Academy is a mixed gender, voluntary Grammar schools in the United Kingdom, grammar school in the market town of Ballymena in County Antrim, Northern Ireland. It was founded in 1828 as a small provincial school for children in the town and surrounding agricultural hinterland. Admissions The school currently has approximately 1300 pupils and 128 members of staff. The school has of mature grounds situated on the Galgorm Road, just west of the town centre. The school motto is ''Tenax Propositi'' meaning ''Steadfast in Purpose''. Following the August 2014 retirement of J. R. The Education Authority () is a non-departmental body sponsored by the Department of Education in Northern Ireland. It was established under the Education Act (Northern Ireland) 2014 (c. 12) which was passed by the Northern Ireland Assembly. The authority became operational on 1 April 2015. Darwin Caldwell
Professor Darwin Caldwell (born Ballymena, Northern Ireland) is a researcher and academic in robotics who is currently Research Director at the Italian Institute of Technology in Genoa, Italy. Besides other robots, he was involved in the development of the iCub, a small-size humanoid robot being designed by the RobotCub Consortium. Caldwell has published over 600 papers and has received awards at several international conference and events. William James Booth (3 February 1939 – 2 June 2009), was an Anglican priest and prebendary of St Paul's Cathedral, London, who served as royal domestic chaplain to Elizabeth II. Early life A descendant of Revd Canon Humphrey Booth (1629–1691), of Dublin (see Gore-Booth), he was born in 1939 and educated at Ballymena Academy, County Antrim, before going to Trinity College, Dublin, where he graduated Bachelor of Arts (BA; 1960) proceeding Master of Arts (MA; 1975). Kirsty Hegarty (née Barr; born 12 September 1988) is a British trap shooter from Northern Ireland. Early life Kirsty Barr was born in Craigavon, County Armagh in 1988, the daughter of shooters Clifford and Sandra Barr. Kirsty attended Ballymena Academy, County Antrim and is an alumna of Queens University, Belfast, where she studied Aerospace Engineering.
