The All-Ireland League (AIL), known for sponsorship reasons as the Energia All-Ireland League, is the national league system for the 50 senior rugby union clubs in Ireland, covering both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. Dave Heffernan
Dave Heffernan (born 31 January 1991) is a rugby union player from Ireland. As of 2024, he plays for Irish provincial side Connacht in the Pro14. Heffernan started his career playing as a flanker, before moving to the position of hooker. He plays his club rugby for Buccaneers. Heffernan has represented the Ireland U20 team. Heffernan studied at University of Galway. He played Gaelic football for Ballina Stephenites while growing up, with his father Ivan a former inter-county player who won All-Ireland titles with Mayo and UCD. The Connacht Senior League is a rugby union competition for senior clubs in the Irish province of Connacht. It was first played for in 1925-26. It has traditionally been ranked second in importance to the Connacht Senior Cup.
