Sat Bains
Satwant Singh "Sat" Bains (born 28 February 1971) is an English chef best known for being chef proprietor of the two-Michelin star Restaurant Sat Bains with Rooms in Nottingham, England. He won the Roux Scholarship in 1999, and worked in France, before returning to the UK and opening his own restaurant. Bains was also one of the winners on the BBC show ''Great British Menu'' in 2007. Early life Satwant Bains was born on 28 February 1971 in Derby, England. His parents were Sikhs who had only recently migrated to the UK from India. Throughout his childhood, Bains's father owned a number of shops, resulting in Sat's first job as a paperboy. His mother was a housewife, and cooked mostly vegetarian meals, although would occasionally cook keema on a Saturday. Bains would later recall that he wasn't interested in learning how to cook during his childhood. Political career Between 2012 and 2022, Bains represented the Atam Nagar Assembly constituency of Punjab. Simarjeet Bains started his career as an Independent politician, independent member of the Punjab Legislative Assembly. Rikki Lee Bains (born 3 February 1988 in Coventry) is an English footballer who plays for Bedworth United. He is a defender. Playing career Coventry City Bains, who is of Asian origin, began his career as a trainee with Coventry City where he had been since he was 11 years of age. Navdeep Singh Bains (born June 16, 1977) is a Canadian politician who served as Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry from 2015 to 2021. A member of the Liberal Party, he represented the riding of Mississauga—Malton in the House of Commons from 2015 to 2021.
