Big Barda is a superheroine appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. She first appeared in ''Mister Miracle'' #4 (October 1971), and was created by Jack Kirby. She was raised as a member of the New Gods, but left to become a hero. Jack Kirby based Barda's physical appearance on Lainie Kazan, who had recently appeared topless in ''Playboy''. Mark Evanier, Kirby's assistant on the Fourth World comics, has explained the genesis of the character: "Jack based some of his characters (not all) on people in his life or in the news... the characterization between Scott 'Mister Miracle' Free and Barda was based largely—though with tongue in cheek—on the interplay between Kirby and his wife Roz". Greg Theakston
Greg Allen Theakston (November 21, 1953 – April 22, 2019) was an Americans, American comics artist and illustrator who worked for numerous publishers. He is known for his independent publications as a comics historian under his Pure Imagination (press), Pure Imagination imprint, as well as for developing the Theakstonizing process used in comics restoration. He used the pseudonym Earl P. Wooten. Early career Greg Theakston became involved in the Detroit area fandom community, contributing to Detroit's Fantasy Fans and Comic-collector's Group on their fanzine ''The Fan Informer'' (1968–71), as well as his own publication, ''The Aardvark Annual'' (1968), and ''Titan''. Orion (character)
Orion is a fictional superhero appearing in comic books published by DC Comics. He is the son of Darkseid and half-brother of Kalibak and Grayven who was traded to Highfather as part of a peace deal between Apokolips and New Genesis. Since then, Orion has assisted the New Gods of New Genesis against his father and was also a member of the Justice League. Takion
Takion (Joshua Saunders) is a superhero appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. The character was created by Paul Kupperberg and Aaron Lopresti,''Takion'' #1 (June 1996) first appearing in an eponymous series in 1996 that lasted for 7 issues. Creation Kupperberg stated the genesis of the character stating, "Unbeknownst to me and Dan, over in editor Archie Goodwin’s office, a very different version of Starman was in development with writer James Robinson and artist Tony Harris. It only became beknownst when we fed our Starman proposal into the pipeline for review by the senior editors our Starman was bounced like a Spalding. Instead of just chalking it up to experience and sticking the proposal in a drawer, Dan suggested we salvage what we could from it and use that as a foundation to create an entirely new character.
