Bahía Basket is a professional Argentina, Argentine basketball team based in Bahía Blanca, Buenos Aires Province. The club plays in the Liga Nacional de Básquet (LNB), the top division of the Argentine league system as a successor of Estudiantes de Bahía Blanca after the club sold its vacant position in the league. Bahía Basket's first home venue was Estadio Osvaldo Casanova, rented to its owner, Estudiantes. Since 2020, Bahía Basket venue is the Dow Center, with capacity for 4,000 spectators. History Bahía Basket began as a personal project of former player Juan Ignacio Sánchez, Pepe Sánchez in an attempt to keep Bahía Blanca's place in the top division of Argentine basketball. Initially, the main sponsor of the project was the Saint-Gobain, Weber Saint-Gobain Group, which gave assistant in administration issues, Dow Center is a 7,500m2 sustainable building inspired on university campus and training facilities of the United States. The point guard (PG), also called the one or the point, is one of the Basketball positions, five positions in a regulation basketball game. A point guard has perhaps the most specialized role of any position and is usually the shortest player on the court. Point guards are expected to control the pace of the game. Alberto Pedro Cabrera
Alberto Pedro "Beto" Cabrera (also nicknamed ''Mago'' or ''Mandrake'' because of his playing skills) (December 16, 1945 – August 12, 2000) was an Argentine basketball player. At club level, Cabrera won 17 championships with his former club, Estudiantes de Bahía Blanca and 12 titles playing for the Bahía Blanca City team. He also played 8 years for the Argentina national team, being also its captain. Edward Richard Nelson (born March 18, 1982) is an American professional basketball player and former ACC Rookie of the Year. A 2004 NCAA Champion with Connecticut, he retired from professional basketball in 2015.
