Badnjevac, Batočina
Badnjevac () is a village in the municipality of Batočina in the Šumadija District of Serbia. The population was 1,084 in the 2011 census. Geography The village of Badnjevac is located in the central part of Serbia, in the eastern half of Šumadija District. It lies to the west of the town of Batočina, the seat of the municipality. The nearest city is Kragujevac, about to the southwest. Belgrade is to the north. Badnjevac lies along the Lepenica River, which flows northeast towards the Great Morava River. Demographics As of the 2011 census, there were 1,084 people, 342 households and 323 families residing in the village. The average household size was 3.17 and the average family size was 2.90. Vehicle registration plates of Serbia display black alphanumeric characters on a white background with blue field placed along the left side edge. State Road 24 is an IB-class/ expressway road in central Serbia, connecting Batočina with Kraljevo. It is located in Šumadija and Western Serbia. Lapovo
Lapovo ( sr-Cyrl, Лапово) is a town and municipality located in the Šumadija District of central Serbia. The population of the town is 6,057 according to the 2022 census. History The first mention of ''Lapovo'' dates from the 12th century when Stefan Nemanja conquered region of Lepenica from Bizanthy. More accurate information about Lapovo's existence came after the Battle of Kosovo in 1389 while duke Mihailo or Mihalj was running the estate in today's region of Lapovo. The Charter of Princess Milica from 1395 mentions landed property of Duke Mihajlo in Hlapova plain, Lapovo today, on the basis of which it can be concluded that Lapovo is a village which has a medieval origin. Great Morava
The Great Morava (, ) is the final section of the Morava ( sr-Cyrl, Морава), a major river system in Serbia. Etymology According to Predrag Komatina from the Institute for Byzantine Studies in Belgrade, the Great Morava is named after the Merehani, an early Slavic tribe who were still unconquered by the Bulgars during the time of the Bavarian Geographer. Lepenica (Great Morava)
The Lepenica ( sr-Cyrl, Лепеница) is a river in the region of Šumadija, in central Serbia. It is long and runs through the city of Kragujevac. The Lepenica springs in the village of Goločelo, southwest of Kragujevac. It receives 37 tributaries, many of which spring on the slopes of the Gledić mountains. It flows into the Great Morava at Lapovo. It used to be navigable for small vessels, but today is reduced to the minor stream. Still, the river was known for floods, especially after the streams and creeks from the Gledić mountains rise during the heavy rains. The greatest flood happened in 1897, when the river completely changed its course, leaving the old riverbed, and shortening itself for , from to .
