Neuwied () is a Districts of Germany, district (''Kreis'') in the north of Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. Bad Hönningen () is a municipality in the Neuwied (district), district of Neuwied, in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. It is situated on the right bank of the Rhine, approx. 15 km (10 mi) northwest of Neuwied, and 30 km (20 mi) southeast of Bonn. Hammerstein is a municipality on the river Rhine in the district of Neuwied in Rhineland-Palatinate in Germany. Near the village, is the Hammerstein castle. The ancient German noble family Hammerstein, which have sponsored the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York, comes from here. History The north-eastern part of the Hammerstein district was crossed by the Upper Germanic Limes during the Roman Empire.
