Backlash (2018)
The 2018 Backlash was a professional wrestling event produced by WWE. It was the 14th Backlash and took place on May 6, 2018, at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. The event aired via pay-per-view (PPV) and livestreaming and featured wrestlers from the promotion's Raw and SmackDown brand divisions. It was the first Backlash event since 2009 to feature multiple brands during a brand split. In 2019, Backlash was replaced by Stomping Grounds, but Backlash was reinstated in 2020. Nine matches were contested at the event, including one on the Kickoff pre-show. In the main event, Raw's Roman Reigns defeated SmackDown's Samoa Joe. Also on the card, Seth Rollins retained Raw's Intercontinental Championship against SmackDown's The Miz in the opening bout, and SmackDown's WWE Champion AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura fought to a draw. Raw (WWE Brand)
WWE Raw, Raw is a WWE brand extension, brand of the American professional wrestling promotion WWE that was established on March 25, 2002. Brands are divisions of WWE's roster where wrestlers are assigned to perform on a weekly basis when a brand extension is in effect. Wrestlers assigned to Raw primarily appear on the brand's weekly television program, ''WWE Raw, Monday Night Raw'', which began in 1993, also referred to simply as ''Raw''. It is one of WWE's two main brands, along with SmackDown (WWE brand), SmackDown, which was made in 2002 after absorbing the WCW. They are collectively referred to as WWE's main roster. Nuufolau Joel Seanoa (born March 17, 1979), better known by the ring name Samoa Joe, is an American professional wrestler and actor. He is signed to All Elite Wrestling (AEW), where he is a member of the Opps, and is one-third of the AEW World Trios Champions. He is also known for his work with Ring of Honor (ROH), Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA), and WWE. WWE Network is a subscription video on-demand over-the-top streaming service and digital television network owned by the American professional wrestling promotion WWE, a division of TKO Group Holdings. The service relied on technology developed by MLB Advanced Media and BAMTech, prior to Endeavor Streaming assuming technical operations of the service in 2019. Although operating primarily as a standalone service, the distribution model of the WWE Network varies by market, where it can be available as an integrated service through licensing agreements with third-party providers, depending on the markets. The 2015 Fastlane was the inaugural Fastlane professional wrestling pay-per-view (PPV) and livestreaming event produced by WWE. It took place on February 22, 2015, at the FedExForum in Memphis, Tennessee. Fastlane replaced Elimination Chamber in the February slot of WWE's PPV event calendar; Elimination Chamber itself was pushed back to May for 2015. Seven matches were contested on the main card with no matches on the Kickoff pre-show. In the main event, Roman Reigns defeated Daniel Bryan to retain his WWE World Heavyweight Championship shot against Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 31. Bryan Lloyd Danielson (born May 22, 1981) is an American semi-retired professional wrestler. He is signed to All Elite Wrestling (AEW), where he performs on a part time basis.
