Baby Island Heights, Washington
Baby Island Heights is a small unincorporated community in Island County, Washington, United States. It is named after a small island offshore of the community commonly known as Baby Island. Most of the community is medium- to high-bank waterfront as it stretches along the shoreline of the Saratoga Passage. History Before the community of Baby Island Heights was platted, the waterfront along the community was a well-known fishing hotspot for salmon. This attracted several well-known early-20th-century Seattle businessmen to the area, including Virgil Bogue, Eddie Bauer, and Thomas Moore, all of whom built cabins in the present-day community. In 1924 the Baby Island (fishing) Resort opened and attracted people to the community for more than 30 years. Island County is a county located in the U.S. state of Washington. As of the 2020 census, its population was 86,857. Its county seat is Coupeville, while its largest city is Oak Harbor. Saratoga Passage
Saratoga Passage lies in Puget Sound between Whidbey Island and Camano Island. Saratoga Passage extends about 18 miles in a northwesterly direction from its entrance between Sandy Point on the Whidbey Island side and Camano Head on the other. At its northern end, Saratoga Passage connects with Penn Cove and Crescent Harbor, and leads east into Skagit Bay. Depths in the passage are from about 600 feet at the southeastern entrance to about 90 feet near Crescent Harbor. Langley, Washington is the only city on either island located on the passage. Most of the waterfront on either side is high bank of forested sand and clay banks. There are four low bank communities on the Whidbey Island side of the passage: Sandy Point, Langley, Bells Beach and Fox Spit. Langley is a city in Island County, Washington, United States. It sits near the south end of Whidbey Island, overlooking the Saratoga Passage. It is the third largest incorporated area on Whidbey. The population was 1,035 at the 2010 census, while the ZCTA for Langley's post office had a population of 4,878. The geographical area of the city is only but the ZCTA covers .
