Babacar Touré (businessman)
Babacar Touré (1 July 1951 – 26 July 2020) was a Senegalese businessman and journalist. Biography Touré obtained a master's degree in political science, journalism, and communication, as well as one in English. He graduated from the Centre d'études des sciences et techniques de l'information (CESTI) in 1979. Touré began working for ''Le Soleil'' before earning a scholarship to study in the United States. He then studied at the Université du Québec à Montréal, Michigan State University, and University of Kansas. Upon his return to Senegal, he began working for Enda Tiers-monde, an NGO. In 1986, Touré co-founded ''Sud hebdo'', which became ''Sud Quotidien'' in 1993. He then began leading Sud Communication, a group that began ''Sud FM'', Senegal's first private radio station. Michigan State University
Michigan State University (Michigan State or MSU) is a public university, public Land-grant university, land-grant research university in East Lansing, Michigan, United States. It was founded in 1855 as the Agricultural College of the State of Michigan, the first of its kind in the country. Panos Network
The Panos Network (originally called Panos Institute) is a network of independent non-governmental institutes working "to ensure that information is effectively used to foster public debate, pluralism and democracy" (see Communication for Development). There are currently six member institutes: Panos Caribbean, Panos Europe, Panos West Africa, Panos Eastern Africa, Panos Southern Africa and Panos South Asia. The member institutes participate in a global network, through which they work on common themes. Jon Tinker also founded Panos Institutes in London, Paris, Washington, Budapest and Canada. Fatick (; ; ) is a town and urban commune in Senegal, located between M'bour and Kaolack and inhabited by the Serer people. Its 2023 population was at 39,361. It is the capital of the Fatick Region and the Fatick Department.
