Harry Bauer Rodrigues (born April 30, 1989), known professionally as Baauer, is an American record producer and DJ, best known for his double platinum song "Harlem Shake (song), Harlem Shake". He has produced varied dance music from the age of 13 and previously produced a track under the name “Captain Harry” which received support on BBC Radio 1. His early releases as Baauer around 2012 were part of an emerging sub genre of electronic music known as Trap music (EDM), trap, alongside acts like TNGHT, RL Grime, Rustie and Flosstradamus. Baauer has produced songs for Just Blaze, Pusha T, Tom Morello and G-Dragon amongst others. "Harlem Shake" is a song recorded by American DJ and producer Baauer. It was released as his debut Single (music), single on May 22, 2012, by Mad Decent imprint label Jeffree's. The uptempo song—variously described as EDM trap music, trap, hip-hop or bass music—incorporates a mechanical bassline, Dutch house synth riffs, a dance music Drop (music), drop, and Sampling (music), samples of growling-lion sounds. It also samples Plastic Little (band), Plastic Little's 2001 song "Miller Time", specifically the vocal "then do the Harlem shake", which is an allusion to Harlem shake (dance), the dance of the same name. Baauer added a variety of peculiar sounds to the song so that it would stand out. ''Aa'' (pronounced "double a") is the debut studio album by American record producer Harry Rodrigues, under his alias Baauer, released by LuckyMe on March 18, 2016. It has guest features by Future, G-Dragon, Leikeli47, M.I.A., Novelist, Pusha T, Rustie, Tirzah and TT the Artist. Background and recording After Rodrigues' debut single, " Harlem Shake", spawned numerous Internet memes, he stated that "it became corny and annoying as fuck". Henry Alfred Steinway (born February 8, 1991), better known by his stage name RL Grime, (previously known as Clockwork) is an American record producer and DJ. RL Grime specializes in trap and bass music and is a member of the Los Angeles electronic music collective WeDidIt. His debut ''Grapes'' EP was released in April 2012 on WeDidIt. RL Grime premiered a popular Halloween mix in October 2012, which have continued to be released annually through 2023. Mad Decent is an American record label founded by Diplo. The label has helped introduce Brazilian baile funk and Angolan kuduro to clubs around the world. Flosstradamus is the stage name of American DJ and musician Curt Cameruci. From 2007 until 2016, Flosstradamus consisted of Cameruci and Josh Young from Chicago. The duo announced they would both be pursuing solo careers, with Cameruci to continue using Flosstradamus as a stage name. Cameruci is also known as Autobot, and Young is also known as J2K and YehMe2.
