BKS Stal Bielsko-Biała
BKS Stal Bielsko-Biała is a Polish sports club, with two departments: the men's football team and the women's volleyball team. The club is based in Bielsko-Biała. The football team currently plays in the second group of V liga Silesia, the sixth level of competition. History BKS Stal Bielsko-Biala (full name: ''Biala Sports Club Stal Bielsko-Biala'') was founded in 1922 in Biała Krakowska, the town which in 1951 merged with Bielsko, to form Bielsko-Biala. The formation of BKS was connected with the rebirth of the Second Polish Republic: both Biala (located in former Austrian Galicia), and neighbouring Bielsko (which had belonged to the Duchy of Teschen) were the towns with large German communities. V Liga
V liga represents the sixth level of the Polish football hierarchy. Teams promoted from V liga move up to IV liga, whilst relegated teams descend to the regional league. Currently, this league is present only in the Greater Poland (Wielkopolskie), Lesser Poland (Małopolskie), Masovian (Mazowieckie) and Silesian (Śląskie) voivodeships. Antoni Piechniczek
Antoni Krzysztof Piechniczek (born 3 May 1942) is a Polish former professional football manager and player. From 2007 to 2011 he was a senator. Playing career Piechniczek was born in Chorzów. He played for clubs such as Naprzód Lipiny, Legia Warsaw, Ruch Chorzów and LB Châteauroux. He was also capped thrice for the Poland national team. Managerial career As a manager, he has led teams such as Ruch Chorzów, Górnik Zabrze, Al Rayyan (Qatar) or Espérance Tunis (Tunisia). He is well known for managing the Poland national team. He coached Poland from 1981 to 1986 and from 1996 to 1997. He led the national team at the 1982 FIFA World Cup, where Poland won the bronze medal, and at the 1986 FIFA World Cup. Olimpia Elbląg is a Polish professional football team based in Elbląg, competing in group I of the III liga. It was founded in 1945. Facilities Olimpia Stadium Olimpia has played near 8 Agrykola Street since 1945. There are projects for a new stadium for the team, but there is no decision when the investment will take place. Zagłębie Sosnowiec () is a Polish professional association football, football club based in Sosnowiec. They compete in II liga in the 2025–26 II liga, 2025–26 season, following relegation from the 2023–24 I liga. The club was established in 1906. Ultras are a type of association football fans who are known for their fanatical support. The term originated in Italy, but is used worldwide to describe predominantly organised fans of association football teams. The behavioural tendency of ultras groups includes singing football chants, playing musical instruments such as drums, their use of flares and smoke bombs (primarily in ''tifo'' choreography), frequent use of elaborate displays, vocal support in large groups and the displaying of flags and banners at football stadiums, all of which are designed to create an atmosphere which encourages their own team and intimidates the opposing players and their supporters. Field Hockey
Field hockey (or simply referred to as hockey in some countries where ice hockey is not popular) is a team sport structured in standard hockey format, in which each team plays with 11 players in total, made up of 10 field players and a goalkeeper. Weightlifting (often known as Olympic weightlifting) is a competitive strength athletics, strength sport in which athletes compete in lifting a barbell loaded with weight plates from the ground to overhead, with the aim of successfully lifting the heaviest weights. Athletes compete in two specific ways of lifting the barbell overhead. The ''Snatch (weightlifting), snatch'' is a wide-grip lift, in which the weighted barbell is lifted overhead in one motion. The ''clean and jerk'' is a combination lift, in which the weight is first taken from the ground to the front of the shoulders (the ''clean''), and then from the shoulders to over the head (the ''jerk''). The Second Polish Republic, at the time officially known as the Republic of Poland, was a country in Central and Eastern Europe that existed between 7 October 1918 and 6 October 1939. GKS Katowice (; GKS stands for , ) is a Polish professional football club based in Katowice. They currently compete in the Ekstraklasa in the 2024–25 season after gaining promotion from the I liga in 2024.
