BBC News At Nine
The ''BBC News at Nine'' (styled as ''BBC News at 9'') is a morning news programme. It aired every Sunday to Friday on BBC Two and the BBC News Channel for 60minutes from 9am until 10am. On weekends, it was replaced by a standard edition of BBC World News. The programme was presented by Victoria Derbyshire, Annita McVeigh, and Ben Brown. Between 2020 and 2023, the programme was no longer branded ''BBC News at 9'', and often simply called BBC News carrying generic BBC News title card (especially during simulcast with BBC World News). The programme was still, however listed as ''BBC News at 9'' on BBC iPlayer. The programme aired for the final time as a generic bulletin on 16 April 2023, before it got replaced by a TV simulcast of Nicky Campbell's phone-in show from Radio 5 Live the next day. BBC Nine O'Clock News
The ''BBC Nine O'Clock News'' is a news programme that was BBC News' flagship for more than thirty years. It was launched on 14 September 1970 and ran until 13 October 2000, when it was replaced by '' BBC Ten O'Clock News'' (later ''BBC News at Ten''). History The ''Nine O'Clock News'' was the BBC's flagship TV news bulletin throughout its run, but the format changed significantly over its 30 years. It replaced ''The Main News'', which went out at 8:45pm, in a response to the launch by ITN of the '' News at Ten''. It was the first bulletin to have a closing set of music; other bulletins would show weather forecasts at the end instead. The first week of the TV bulletin was presented by Robert Dougall, followed by Richard Baker and Kenneth Kendall, each presenting five consecutive nightly bulletins. World News Today
''World News Today'' is a current-affairs news programme, produced by BBC News that was presented on Friday-Sundays with Philippa Thomas, Karin Giannone and Kasia Madera. Presenters alternated the weekend shifts. It was originally conceived as a morning television show aimed at American audiences, hosted by George Alagiah, but later expanded to six editions a day aimed at different markets. There was then one daily edition only, aimed as an evening news programme for the UK, Europe, Middle East and Africa part-simulcast on BBC Four, BBC News Channel and BBC World News. The Film Review
''The Film Review'' (formerly ''Film 24'') is a ten-minute film-related programme that was usually shown on BBC News each Friday evening at 5:45pm. It reviewed three new films each week and was repeated several times during weekends. Jane Hill served as the main host, having taken over the position when Gavin Esler left as a BBC News channel presenter. Mark Kermode was the regular film critic. However, during the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions, the programme was presented exclusively by the film critic alone. It concentrated on home streaming releases as cinemas have been closed but, from 24 July 2020, began to include cinema theatrical releases again. MediaCityUK is a mixed-use property development on the banks of the Manchester Ship Canal in City of Salford, Salford, Greater Manchester, England. The project was developed by The Peel Group, Peel Media; its principal tenants are Mass media, media organisations and the Quayside MediaCityUK shopping centre. The land occupied by the development was part of the Port of Manchester and Manchester docks.
