Astrix
Avi Shmailov (Hebrew: אבי שמיילוב) under his stage name Astrix, is an Israeli trance music DJ and producer specializing in the subgenre of progressive psychedelic trance. In 2006 Astrix reached #41 in DJMag's "Top 100 DJs" yearly rank along with a rise of several other Israeli musicians (the highest being Infected Mushroom at #9), marking a significant proportion of the Israeli electronic music scene. In 2007, Astrix reached #18 on the list. Early career Astrix was born in Georgia in the then USSR, to a Mountain Jewish family in the Caucasus and grew up in Tel Aviv, Israel. He began recording music under the name Astrix in 1997, sometimes misconceived to be taken from the Asterix comic books. Alien Project (musician)
Alien Project is the stage name of Israeli psychedelic trance DJ and producer Ari Linker. He has also collaborated with other musicians in the groups Alien vs. The Cat (with Space Cat), Crunchy Punch (with Jean Borelli), N.B.K. (with Christophe Drouillet), and Save the Robot (with Ido Liran). History Ari Linker first began performing in Goa in 1994. He has been invited back to perform in Goa as a live act or DJ every year since then. His first album as Alien Project was ''Midnight Sun'', released on Phonokol in 2001. Israeli trance musician Astrix collaborated on four tracks on the album. The album also featured appearances from Jean Borelli, Orion, and Celli Firmi. Infected Mushroom is an Israeli musical duo formed in Haifa in 1996 by producers Erez Eisen and Amit Duvdevani. They produce and perform psytrance, electronica, dream trance and psychedelic music. They are one of the best-selling groups in Israeli music history in terms of both domestic and international sales. They employ a variety of musical sources, including acoustic guitars and complex synthesized basses. Their compositions often contain changes of drum beat and tempo. Infected Mushroom's live shows feature vocals and analogue instruments in performances that are set against a multimedia backdrop.
