Arnold is a small town in the Australian state of Victoria. It is located on Bridgewater - Dunolly Road, in the Shire of Loddon The Shire of Loddon is a local government area in Victoria, Australia, located in the northern part of the state. It covers an area of and in 2021 had a population of 7,759. It includes the towns of Inglewood, Boort, Serpentine, Pyramid .... The town was originally named Kangadaar, however the creek crossing below the town was Arnold Bridge (privately owned toll bridge) which the town mistakenly became known as. The post office opened on 17 December 1888 as Arnold's Bridge, and was renamed Arnold Railway Station in 1909 and Arnold in 1924, and closed in 1989. The main recreational facility in the town is the Arnold Recreation Centre (The A.R.C) which is home to the cricket team the Arnold Redbacks. Bendigo West is an electoral district of the Legislative Assembly in the Australian state of Victoria. It is a electorate centred on the city of Bendigo west of the Yungera railway line, and including surrounding rural towns to the west and south-west. It encompasses the localities of Bendigo City, California Gully, Castlemaine, Harcourt, Long Gully, Maldon, Marong, Newstead and West Bendigo. Tarnagulla is a gold mining town in central Victoria, Australia. The town is in the Shire of Loddon local government area, north west of the state capital, Melbourne. At the , Tarnagulla had a population of 304. By 2016, the population was 133. History European settlement in the area began with the taking up of Tarnagulla station in the 1840s. Gold was first found in the area in 1852 by prospectors on their way to the Korong goldfields near Wedderburn. Inglewood, Victoria
Inglewood is a township in Victoria, Australia, located on the Calder Highway in the Shire of Loddon. History Inglewood was an important gold mining centre during the Victorian Gold Rush of the 1850s and 1860s. Gold was first discovered in 1859 by Alexander, Joseph and Thomas Thompson and Joseph Hanny. On notification of the discovery some 16,000 diggers flocked to the area. By January 1860 a new field a few miles south of the original was opened up by Potter, Irvine and McKean and dubbed "New Inglewood". This is the site of the present township. By mid-1860 the population on the field was estimated to be greater than 40,000, ranking among the biggest rushes in Victoria's history.
