''Apruebo Dignidad'' (; in English, ''Approve Dignity'', AD) is a left-wing Chilean electoral coalition officially created on 11 January 2021, by the Broad Front and Chile Digno in preparation for the Constitutional Convention election. History The Apruebo Dignidad pact has its origins in the attempt to reunite the left into a large conglomerate. In the midst of the pandemic, there were various attempts to seek unity in the opposition. One of them was Popular Sheet ( es, Pliego Popular), a platform that led left-wing political parties and movements with the intention of pushing left-of-centre economic proposals in Congress. Gabriel Boric
Gabriel Boric Font (; born 11 February 1986) is a Chilean left-wing politician who is the 37th and current president of Chile, serving since 11 March 2022. Boric studied in the Faculty of Law at the University of Chile, and was the president of the University of Chile Student Federation from 2011 to 2012. As a student representative, he became one of the leading figures of the 2011–2013 Chilean student protests. Boric was twice elected to the Chamber of Deputies representing the Magallanes and Antarctic district, first as an independent candidate in 2013 and then in 2017 as part of the Broad Front, a left-wing coalition he created with several other parties. Chile Digno
(Spanish for "Worthy Chile") is a Chilean political coalition of left-wing parties with a Marxist–Leninist, ecologist and regionalist ideology. The political alliance was created under the name ''Unity for Change'' after the victory of the conservative coalition ''Chile Vamos'' in the 2017 general election. Composition The coalition consisted of the Communist Party of Chile (PCCh), a former party of the New Majority. Broad Front (Chile)
The Broad Front ( es, Frente Amplio, FA) is a Chilean political coalition founded in early 2017, composed of left-wing parties and movements. Its first electoral contest was the 2017 Chilean general election, where their presidential candidate Beatriz Sánchez came third with 20% of the vote in the first round of election (she just missed getting to the second-round run-off by 3%). The Broad Front also expanded their electoral representation to 20 deputies (out of 155), 1 senator (out of 43) and 21 out of 278 Regional Councillors, thus consolidating the movement as the 'third force' in Chilean politics.
