''Applied Psychology: An International Review'' (''Psychologie Appliquée: Revue Internationale'') is a peer-reviewed academic journal covering the field of applied psychology. Established in 1952, it is an official journal of the International Association of Applied Psychology and is published on their behalf by Wiley-Blackwell. It was formerly published by the Psychology Press, a subsidiary of Taylor & Francis. The editor-in-chief is Ute Stephan. ''Applied Psychology'' occasionally publishes special issues with guest editors and invited contributions which focus on certain themes. Editors were: L. S. Michael Frese
Michael Frese is a psychologist who teaches management and organizational behaviour at Asia School of Business, Malaysia and Leuphana University of Lüneburg, Germany. He is a visiting professor at Makerere University Business School in Kampala, Uganda, and at National University of Singapore Business School. He was head of the department and Provost Chair at National University of Singapore Business School. Education and career Frese completed his Master of Science at the Free University of Berlin. After studying psychology, Frese worked at the chair for educational and social sciences at the Technical University of Berlin. He received his doctorate in 1978. In 1980, he was a visiting professor at the University of Bremen, and from 1981 until 1983 at the University of Pennsylvania. The impact factor (IF) or journal impact factor (JIF) of an academic journal is a scientometric index calculated by Clarivate that reflects the yearly mean number of citations of articles published in the last two years in a given journal, as indexed by Clarivate's Web of Science. As a journal-level metric, it is frequently used as a proxy for the relative importance of a journal within its field; journals with higher impact factor values are given the status of being more important, or carry more prestige in their respective fields, than those with lower values. While frequently used by universities and funding bodies to decide on promotion and research proposals, it has come under attack for distorting good scientific practices. International Association Of Applied Psychology
The International Association of Applied Psychology (IAAP) was created in 1919 by Édouard Claparède under the name of International Association of Psychotechnics (Association Internationale de Psychotechnique) and the secretary general was Jean-Maurice Lahy. The present name was adopted in 1955. The current president is Christine Roland-Lévy. Members are individuals with an expertise in applied psychology. International Congresses of Applied Psychology (ICAP) are organized every four years; the last one was held in Montreal, Canada, 2018. There was a special Centennial Congress of Applied Psychology (CCAP) in Cancun, Mexico, scheduled for December 13–17, 2020, to celebrate the 100 year anniversary of IAAP.
