Antal Dovcsák
Antal Dovcsák (March 11, 1879 – 1962) was a Hungarians, Hungarian Communism, Communist politician and trade union leader. Biography Dovcsák was born in Budapest and was a lathe worker. From 1911 he was the president of the Central Association of Iron and Metalworkers in Hungary. He briefly served as deputy prime minister of the Hungarian Soviet Republic during July 1919. After the fall of the Soviet Republic he was also a minister in Gyula Peidl, Peidl's government however he was later arrested during the White Terror (Hungary), White terror. He was released in 1922 during the Soviet-Hungarian prisoner exchange deal and settled in Austria where he worked as an official for the Austrian iron and metalworkers' union. Gyula Peidl (4 April 1873 – 22 January 1943) was a Hungarian trade union leader and social democrat politician who served as prime minister and acting head of state of Hungary for 6 days in August 1919. His tenure coincided with a period of political instability in Hungary immediately after World War I, during which several successive governments ruled the country. White Terror (Hungary)
The White Terror in Hungary ( hu, Fehér Terror) was a two-year period (1919–1921) of repressive violence by counter-revolutionary soldiers, carried out to destroy any supporters of Hungary's short-lived Soviet republic and its Red Terror. Tens of thousands were imprisoned without trial, and as many as 1,000 people were killed; many of the victims were Jewish.
