Andy Wilson (director)
Andy Wilson (born 1958) is a British film, TV and theatre director. Early career Wilson began his career as a performer with Circus Lumiere. He was one of the directors (with Cindy Oswin, Brian Lipson and Peter Godfrey) of the experimental theatre group Rational Theatre and also a performer with Archaos, the celebrated anarchist French circus troupe. Wilson studied drama at Birmingham University from 1976 to 1979 and then worked as an actor for three years before joining the London-based Rational Theatre and subsequently establishing the Hidden Grin Theatre. Film and television directing Wilson began his transition to film and television by directing numerous music videos, notably for techno duo Underworld. Peter Godfrey (director)
Peter Godfrey (16 October 1899 – 4 March 1970) was an English actor and film director. Founder of the experimental Gate Theatre Salon in 1925, with his first wife Molly Veness, he staged London's first expressionistic production in the following year. He went into partnership with Velona Pilcher in 1927 and together they opened the Gate Theatre Studio in Villiers Street, Charing Cross. Eventually moving to Hollywood, Los Angeles, Hollywood, he established a career as a film actor and director. BBC America is an American basic cable network that is jointly owned by BBC Studios and AMC Networks. The channel primarily airs sci-fi and action series and films, as well as selected programs from the BBC (such as its nature documentary series). ''Ripper Street'' is a British mystery drama television series set in Whitechapel in the East End of London starring Matthew Macfadyen, Jerome Flynn, Adam Rothenberg, and MyAnna Buring. It begins in 1889, six months after the infamous Jack the Ripper murders. ''Wallander'' is a British television series adapted from the Swedish novelist Henning Mankell's Kurt Wallander novels and starring Kenneth Branagh as the eponymous police inspector. It was the first time the ''Wallander'' novels have been adapted into an English-language production. Yellow Bird, a production company formed by Mankell, began negotiations with British companies to produce the adaptations in 2006. In 2007, Branagh met Mankell to discuss playing the role.
