Andrew Poje
Andrew Poje (born February 25, 1987) is a Canadian ice dancer. With partner Kaitlyn Weaver, he is a three-time World medalist (2014 silver, 2015 and 2018 bronze), a two-time Four Continents champion (2010, 2015), a two-time Grand Prix Final champion (2014–15, 2015–16), and a three-time Canadian national champion (2015, 2016, 2019). Personal life Andrew Poje was born on February 25, 1987, in Waterloo, Ontario. His ancestry is Slovak — his mother was born in Bratislava — and Slovenian Gottscheer. He is the great-nephew of former pair skater and coach Agnesa Búřilová (née Wlachovská). He has some knowledge of French. Career Early career Poje took up ice dancing at age seven and also skated in singles until he was 13. 2019 Four Continents Figure Skating Championships
The 2019 Four Continents Figure Skating Championships were held on February 7–10, 2019 in Anaheim, California, United States. Held annually since 1999, the competition featured skaters from the Americas, Asia, Africa, and Oceania. Medals were awarded in Single skating, men's singles, Single skating, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing. Qualification This competition is open to skaters from all non-European International figure skating, member nations of the International Skating Union. The corresponding competition for European skaters is the 2019 European Figure Skating Championships. Skaters are eligible for the event if they reached the age of 15 before July 1, 2018. Each national federation is permitted three entries for each discipline and may choose skaters based on their own criteria, as long as the selected skaters have attained the minimum technical elements scores (TES) in accordance with ISU regulations. Mathew Gates
Mathew Gates (born June 29, 1975) is a British-American former competitive ice dancer. With Eve Chalom, he is the 1996 Nebelhorn Trophy silver medalist and a two-time (1997, 1999) U.S. national silver medalist. He has medaled seven consecutive times at the US National Championships from Novice to Senior level. Gates is a two-time World competitor and member of Team USA. Gates is a World/International level Coach and Choreographer. Personal life Gates was born June 29, 1975 in Hitchin, England. He moved to the United States in 1992. He is married to Kelly Gates, who is a former professional figure skater and a Registered Nurse. They have two children, and reside in North Carolina, USA. Bloomfield Hills, Michigan
Bloomfield Hills is a small city (5.04 sq. miles) in Oakland County in the U.S. state of Michigan. It is a northern suburb of Metro Detroit and is approximately northwest of Downtown Detroit. Except a small southern border with the city of Birmingham, the city is almost completely surrounded by Bloomfield Township, but the city and township are administered separately. As of the 2020 census, the city's population was 4,460. History On June 28, 1820, Oakland County was divided into two townships: Pontiac Township and Bloomfield Township, the latter covering the southern part of the county that would include West Bloomfield Township, Royal Oak and Southfield. What is now Bloomfield Hills was a farming area until the turn of the 20th century when wealthy Detroit residents bought up the land.
