Anders Göthberg
Anders Göthberg (9 October 1975 – 30 March 2008) was a Swedish guitarist. Göthberg played guitar for Broder Daniel and Honey Is Cool. He lived his latter life in Stockholm with his girlfriend, artist Paola Bruna. Göthberg died of suicide by jumping from Västerbron in Stockholm. A memorial to Broder Daniel was raised in August 2014 at the site of the band's last concert in Slottsskogen during the Way Out West Festival Way Out West is a three-day music festival held in Gothenburg, Sweden, during August that plays host to a variety of popular music artists mainly from the rock, electronic and hip-hop genres. Shoreline Memorial
The Shoreline memorial is a monument located in Slottsskogen, a large park in central Gothenburg, Sweden. The installation commemorates the location of the final reunion of the band Broder Daniel in 2008. History Broder Daniel, a Gothenburg alternative rock group, was formed in 1989 by the two classmates Henrik Berggren and Daniel Gilbert. The band was inspired by among others The Jesus and Mary Chain, Iggy Pop, and The Velvet Underground, and relied heavily on distorted guitars and simple arrangements. Their lyrics mostly centred on existential issues and youth angst. After a few years of name changes, the band expanded its membership, and eventually put out their first album in 1995 (''Saturday Night Engine'', with EMI). They soon gained a relatively large following of fans throughout Sweden, and went on to release numerous more albums, EPs and singles. Way Out West is a three-day music festival held in Gothenburg, Sweden, during August that plays host to a variety of popular music artists mainly from the rock, electronic and hip-hop genres. The main festival is complemented with the club concept Stay Out West which features after-hours gigs at various venues around the city. Slottsskogen (, "Castle Forest") is a 137-hectare park located in central Gothenburg, Sweden. History When Gothenburg was founded in the 17th century, the area of Slottsskogen was a forest that belonged to the Old Älvsborg fortress. Västerbron
() is an arch bridge in central Stockholm, Sweden. With a total length exceeding 600 m, 340 m of which stretches over water, it is one of the major bridges in Stockholm, offering one of the most panoramic views of the central part of the city centering on Gamla stan, the old town. Paola Bruna
Paola Bruna (born 7 February 1973), previously Paola Åhlund, is a Swedish artist and singer of Chilean descent who grew up in Dalarna. Bruna was trained as a painter at Konstfack. Her efforts have included singing for Moder Jords Massiva, performing as DJ and releasing a solo album '' Stockcity Girl''. She also sang in the Teddybears single "Yours to Keep". In 2002, Bruna's song "Above the Candystore" was featured in the independent movie Spun with a corresponding music video. Her song "Interstellar Love" was used in the snowboard film ''Follow Me Around'' from Mack Dawg Productions in 2006. In 2007, she contributed her voice for two songs for the Finnish indie band Tigerbombs. Bruna was voted 'Best dressed woman of the year' by Elle Magazine Sweden in 2006. Honey Is Cool
Honey Is Cool were a Swedish indie rock band from Gothenburg, formed in 1994. The band's final line-up consisted of Karin Dreijer (vocals, guitar), John Jern (guitar), Staffan Larsson (bass), Tina Weibull (keyboards, synthesisers), and Fredrik Wennerlund (drums). History 'For the Sun' was one of the band's first songs, recorded in 1994, but never released commercially. A recording can be heard on Youtube. They recorded a demo and were signed by Sun Spot. Their first EP ''Focky Focky No Pay'' was released in 1996. The new drummer on the record was Håkan Hellström from Broder Daniel. After the ''Focky Focky No Pay'' was well-received, Honey Is Cool signed on to MVG and released ''Crazy Love'' in 1997. This album also got very good reviews but was not a commercial success.
