America 3000
''America 3000'' is a 1986 post-apocalyptic science-fiction cult film from Cannon Films, written and directed by David Engelbach, and starring Chuck Wagner, Laurene Landon, and Karen Sheperd. The film premiered in the US in April, 1986 and was released on a regional basis, opening on various dates. The film is set in post-apocalyptic Colorado, nine hundred years after a nuclear war between Communist Russia and The United States. The genders have separated into two warring factions; Plugots and Fraus. The Amazons, Amazon-like females of the 'Frau' are the dominant tribe, and under them all male 'Plugots' are slaves, breeders, and playthings. Korvis (Chuck Wagner) and Gruss (William Wallace) escape enslavement, and, upon discovery of a stash of 21st-century weaponry, a new arms race is started between the tribes. Yoram Globus ( he, יורם גלובוס; born 7 September 1943) is an Israeli–American film producer, cinema owner, and distributor. He has been involved in over 300 full-length motion pictures and he is most known for his association with The Cannon Group, Inc., an American film production company, which he co-owned with his cousin Menahem Golan. Early life Yoram Globus was born in Tiberias, on the lake of Galilee, Palestine, British mandate of, now Israel, in 1943 to Jewish parents who immigrated from Poland. When he was three years old, his family moved to the northern city of Kiryat Motzkin. His father, Shmuel, built a cinema, which was unique at that time. When the cinema opened, Globus was 5 years old and very interested in all aspects of the cinema. Stephen Lawrence Malovic (July 21, 1956 – April 13, 2007) was an American-Israeli basketball player. He played in the National Basketball Association (NBA) for one season and enjoyed a long career in Israel, where he ultimately obtained Israeli citizenship. Malovic played college basketball at the University of Southern California and San Diego State University. He played 39 games in the 1979–80 NBA season for the Washington Bullets, San Diego Clippers and Detroit Pistons.
