Ambrosia Malone
Ambrosia Malone (born 8 January 1998) is an Australian field hockey player. Personal life Malone was born in Southport, Gold Coast, Queensland, and made her senior international hockey debut in a test series against Spain in January 2018. Eight years earlier Malone represented Australia in football when she was selected in the Football Australia U13 Women's team which competed in the AFC Festival of Football in Vietnam. A natural left-footer, she was the only U12 player selected in the group and held down the left defender position. She was named in the Football Australia All Stars (national) squad each subsequent year and in 2012, at U14, was the youngest player named in the FAU17 Junior World Cup Squad. Malone graduated from Trinity Lutheran College in 2015. At school Malone was highly regarded for her ambitious attitude and natural ability towards all sports. The 2018 Women's Tri-Nations Hockey Tournament was an invitational women's field hockey competition, hosted by the New Zealand Hockey Federation. The tournament took place between 19 and 27 May 2018 in Cromwell, New Zealand. A total of three teams competed for the title. Australia won the tournament by defeating New Zealand 4–1 in the final. The 2018 Women's Hockey World Cup was the 14th edition of the Women's Hockey World Cup, a field hockey tournament. It was held from 21 July to 5 August 2018 at the Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre in London, England. Defending champions the Netherlands won the tournament for an eighth time after defeating Ireland 6–0 in the final, who claimed their first World Cup medal. Spain won the third place match by defeating Australia 3–1 to claim their first World Cup medal as well. Penalty Shootout
The penalty shootout is a method of determining a winner in sports matches that would have otherwise been drawn or tied. The rules for penalty shootouts vary between sports and even different competitions; however, the usual form is similar to penalty shots in that a single player takes one shot on goal from a specified spot, the only defender being the goalkeeper. If the result is still tied, the shootout usually continues on a "goal-for-goal" basis, with the teams taking shots alternately, and the one that scores a goal unmatched by the other team is declared the winner. The 2022 Commonwealth Games, officially known as the XXII Commonwealth Games and commonly known as Birmingham 2022, was an international multi-sport event for members of the Commonwealth of Nations that took place in Birmingham, England between 28 July and 8 August 2022. Birmingham was announced as host on 21 December 2017. The Australia women's national field hockey team (nicknamed the Hockeyroos) are, as of January 2019, ranked third in the world.
