All Watched Over By Machines Of Loving Grace (poetry Collection)
''All Watched Over by Machines of Loving Grace'' is Richard Brautigan's fifth poetry publication. Like several of his early works, the entire edition (of 1,500 copies) was distributed for free. The title poem envisions a world where cybernetics has advanced to a stage where it allows a return to the balance of nature and an elimination of the need for human labor. All thirty-two of the poems in this collection were republished in ''The Pill Versus the Springhill Mine Disaster''. Richard Brautigan
Richard Gary Brautigan (January 30, 1935 – c. September 16, 1984) was an American novelist, poet, and short story writer. A prolific writer, he wrote throughout his life and published ten novels, two collections of short stories, and four books of poetry. Brautigan's work has been published both in the United States and internationally throughout Europe, Japan, and China. He is best known for his novels ''Trout Fishing in America'' (1967), ''In Watermelon Sugar'' (1968), and ''The Abortion: An Historical Romance 1966'' (1971). Brautigan began his career as a poet, with his first collection being published in 1957. He made his debut as a novelist with ''A Confederate General from Big Sur'' (1964), about a seemingly delusional man who believes himself to be the descendant of a Confederate States of America, Confederate general from Big Sur. Industrial Rock
Industrial rock is a fusion genre that fuses industrial music and rock music. It initially originated in the 1970s, and drew influence from early experimental and industrial acts such as Cromagnon, Throbbing Gristle, Einstürzende Neubauten and Chrome. Industrial rock became more prominent in the 1980s with the success of artists such as Killing Joke, Swans, and partially Skinny Puppy, and later spawned the offshoot genre known as industrial metal. The genre was made more accessible to mainstream audiences in the 1990s with the aid of acts such as Nine Inch Nails and Marilyn Manson, both of which have released platinum-selling records.
