Alicja Bachleda-Curuś (pron. ; born 12 May 1983) is a Mexican-born Polish actress and singer, who has appeared in films including ''Trade'', '' Ondine'' and ''Pan Tadeusz''. Early life Bachleda-Curuś was born in Tampico, Mexico. She is the daughter of Lidia and Tadeusz Bachleda-Curuś, a geologist who was working in Mexico at that time. Her uncle, Adam Bachleda-Curuś, is the former mayor of Zakopane, Poland. While growing up in Poland, Bachleda studied at the Elzbieta Armatys' Theater, Music and Dance Studio. She studied acting at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York City. Alicja Maria Szemplińska (born 29 April 2002), also known mononymously as Alicja, is a Polish singer. She won season 10 of ''The Voice of Poland'' in 2019. The following year, she won Poland's national Eurovision selection competition '' Szansa na sukces'' with her song " Empires", which she would have performed at the second semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 in Rotterdam on 14 May 2020. Alicja Kotowska
Alicja Jadwiga Kotowska (, Warsaw – 11 November 1939, near Wielka Piaśnica) was a Polish religious sister who was head of the Resurrectionist convent in Wejherowo between 1934 and 1939. She was arrested by the Gestapo on 24 October 1939 during prayer and murdered alongside over 300 other Poles and Jews on 11 November in one of the Piaśnica massacres. Witnesses reported seeing her comfort Jewish children while being transported. She was beatified by the Roman Catholic Church in 1999 as one of the 108 Martyrs of World War II. Life Kotowska was born on 20 November 1899 to a devout Catholic family, the second of eight children. During World War I she worked as a nurse. Alicja Fiodorow-Jeromin (born 22 May 1985) is a Paralympic athlete from Poland competing mainly in category T46 sprint events. She competed in the 2004 Summer Paralympics in Athens, Greece. Alicja Trout is an American, Memphis-based rock guitarist, singer and songwriter. She is best known for her work with the synth-heavy Lost Sounds, which she started with Jay Reatard. Her current band, the River City Tanlines, were named an essential Memphis band by ''Spin Magazine'' in December 2007. Alicja Dorabialska (14 October 1897 – 1975), was a Polish chemist. Life Alicja Dorabialska was born in Sosnowiec, Vistula Land, Russian Empire (now Poland) on 14 October 1897. She graduated from a high school in Warsaw in 1914 and then enrolled in the Physical-Mathematical Department of the Moscow Higher Women's Courses the following year, graduating in 1918. Dorabialska received her Ph.D. from the University of Warsaw in 1922 and studied under Marie Curie at the Radium Institute, Paris in 1925. Dorabialska was an assistant in the Institute of Physical Chemistry in Warsaw University of Technology from 1918 to 1932. Two years later she was appointed an assistant professor in the department of physical and inorganic chemistry of Lviv Polytechnic in 1934 and served as the department chair during World War II. Alicja Sakaguchi (born 1954 in Szczecin) is a linguist and university professor in the fields of Esperanto and interlinguistics. Biography Alicja Sakaguchi earned a master's degree after studying Hungarian and Esperantology at Eötvös Loránd University in Budapest (1974 to 1979); she completed her doctorate in 1982. From 1981 to 1985 she was a lecturer at the University of Paderborn, then from 1986 to 1998 at the Goethe University Frankfurt. She received her habilitation in 2000 after publishing a book on interlinguistics.
