Aleksandar Kesar
Aleksandar Kesar ( sr-cyr, Александар Кесар; born 4 February 1972) is a Serbian professional basketball coach. He last served as a head coach for the Tianjin Pioneers of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA). Coaching career Kesar was an assistant coach of Partizan and Olympiacos. He was a head coach for Mega Aqua Monta, Azovmash Mariupol, Shandong Gold Lions, Fujian Sturgeons, and Tianjin Pioneers. National team coaching career Kesar was an assistant coach of Dušan Ivković in the national team of Serbia at two FIBA EuroBaskets, 2009 in Poland and 2011 in Lithuania, and at the 2010 FIBA World Championship in Turkey. He won silver medal at EuroBasket 2009. He led the university team of Serbia at two Summer Universiades, 2007 in Bangkok and 2009 in Belgrade. Basketball coaching is the act of directing and strategizing the behavior of a basketball team or individual basketball player. Basketball coaching typically encompasses the improvement of individual and team offensive and defensive skills, as well as overall physical conditioning. Coaches also have the responsibility to improve their team by player development, strategy, and in-game management. Coaches also teach and inspire their team to be their best. Coaching is usually performed by a single person, often with the help of one or more assistants. 2011–12 Euroleague
The 2011–12 Turkish Airlines Euroleague was the 12th season of the modern era of Euroleague and the second under the title sponsorship of Turkish Airlines. Including the competition's previous incarnation as the FIBA Europe Champions Cup, this was the 55th season of the premier competition for European men's clubs. The Final Four was held at the Sinan Erdem Dome in Istanbul, in 11–13 May 2012. It was won by the Piraeus club Olympiacos (2nd title), who defeated CSKA Moscow in the championship game. 2010 FIBA World Championship
The 2010 FIBA World Championship was the 16th FIBA World Championship, the international basketball world championship contested by the men's national teams. The tournament ran from 28 August to 12 September 2010. It was co-organised by the International Basketball Federation (FIBA), Turkish Basketball Federation and the 2010 Organising Committee. It was considered as prestigious a competition as the Olympic Basketball Tournament. The tournament was hosted by Turkey. For the third time (after the 1986 and 2006 tournaments), the World Championship had 24 competing nations. As a result, the group stage games were played in four cities, and the knockout round was hosted by Istanbul. EuroBasket 2011 was the 37th men's European Basketball Championship, held by FIBA Europe. The competition was hosted by Lithuania. This was the second time EuroBasket had been held in Lithuania, the country having also hosted the 1939 championship. EuroBasket, also commonly referred to as the European Basketball Championship, is the main international basketball competition that is contested quadrennially, by the senior men's national teams that are governed by FIBA Europe, which is the European zone within the International Basketball Federation.
