Albert Hammond Jr.
Albert Hammond Jr. (''born'' Hammond III; born April 9, 1980) is an American musician, singer, songwriter and record producer. He is best known for his role as rhythm and lead guitarist, as well as occasional keyboard player and backing vocalist, in the American rock band The Strokes. Hammond Jr. released his debut solo album '' Yours to Keep'' in 2006 and followed up with ''¿Cómo Te Llama?'' in 2008. Since then, he has released the 2013 EP '' AHJ,'' and the albums ''Momentary Masters'' and ''Francis Trouble'' in 2015 and 2018, respectively. Early life Hammond was born in Los Angeles, California. He is the son of British-Gibraltarian singer-songwriter Albert Hammond, a prolific songwriter best known for his 1972 hit single "It Never Rains in Southern California", and Argentine Claudia Fernández, a former model and beauty pageant winner. The Strokes
The Strokes are an American rock band from New York City. Formed in 1998, the band is composed of lead singer and songwriter Julian Casablancas, guitarists Nick Valensi and Albert Hammond Jr., bassist Nikolai Fraiture, and drummer Fabrizio Moretti. They were a leading group of the early-2000s indie rock revival. The release of their EP '' The Modern Age'' in early 2001 sparked a bidding war among major labels, with the band eventually signing to RCA Records. Julian Fernando Casablancas (born August 23, 1978) is an American singer, musician and songwriter, best known as the lead vocalist and primary songwriter of Rock music, rock band The Strokes, with whom he has released six studio albums since their founding in 1998. Casablancas released a solo album, ''Phrazes for the Young'', in 2009. That same year, he founded the Independent record label, independent record label Cult Records, which has represented artists such as The Growlers, Rey Pila and Karen O. The album is named after Hammond's twin brother Francis who his mother miscarried in 1980 and was described as "a homage to both the death of his twin and his own birth, as well as the complexities of identity that arise because of their intermingling."
