Airport
An airport is an aerodrome with extended facilities, mostly for commercial air transport. Berbérati
Berbérati is the second-largest city in the Central African Republic, with a population of 105,155(2013 census). Located in the south-west of the country near the border with Cameroon, it serves as capital of the Mambéré-Kadéï Prefecture and gives its name (as capital) to the main Sub-prefecture. History The city was founded in 1893. In the early 20th century Berbérati was part of Oubangui-Chari, one of the four territories comprising French Equatorial Africa which later became Central African Republic. In 1911 it was ceded to the German Empire under the terms of the Morocco–Congo Treaty and the Treaty of Fez, becoming part of the German colony of Neukamerun, until it was reconquered by the French in 1916 following the defeat of German forces in western Africa during World War I. Bouca Airport is an airstrip serving Bouca, a village in the Ouham prefecture of the Central African Republic. The airstrip is within the northern section of the village, alongside the RN4 road. There are houses close to the south end of the runway. Bouca
Bouca is a town located in the Central African Republic prefecture of Ouham. It is not far east of Bossangoa at the Fafa river. History On 21 March 2013, the town was overtaken by rebels of the Séléka coalition. On 9 September 2013 armed Anti-balaka fighters attacked the town killing at least three people. Bouar Airport is an airport serving Bouar, a city in the Nana-Mambere prefecture of the Central African Republic. The airport is east of the city. Most of the runway is dirt, with asphalt pavement on both ends. The Bouar non-directional beacon (Ident: FBU) is located on the field. Bouar
Bouar is a market town in the western Central African Republic, lying on the main road from Bangui (437 km) to the frontier with Cameroon (210 km). The city is the capital of Nana-Mambéré prefecture, has a population of 40,353, while the whole sous-préfecture has a population of 96,595 (2003 census). Bouar lies on a plateau almost 1000m above sea level and is known as the site of Camp Leclerc, a French military base. About seventy groups of megaliths lie in the town and to its north and east. The Bouar Megaliths, dating back to the very late Neolithic Era (c. 3500–2700 BC) were added to the UNESCO World Heritage Tentative List on April 11, 2006 in the Cultural category. Bossembélé
Bossembélé is a small town in Yaloke-Bossembele, in the Ombella-M'Poko Prefecture of the Central African Republic, lying 157 miles north west of Bangui on the main road to Cameroon. It is known for its market and its nightlife and is home to a cinema and an airstrip. The Lambi Falls lie near the town. History On 23 March 2013 Séléka rebels took control of Bossembélé. Bossangoa
Bossangoa is the capital of Ouham, one of the 14 prefectures of the Central African Republic. The town has a population of 36,478 (2003 census). It is located 303 km (189 mi) north of the country's capital, Bangui. The Ouham River passes through Bossangoa and on through a number of waterfalls east of the city before turning north to join the Chari River in Chad. The Mandjia, the third most populous ethnic group in the Central African Republic, are concentrated in Bossangoa. Along with the Baya, a closely related group, the Mandjia are important historically for their resistance to invasion by various Muslim powers to the north. From 1901 to 1905 Bossangoa and the surrounding area was in rebellion against French colonial authorities. Bossangoa became a center of Protestant missionary activity during the 1920s. Bocaranga
Bocaranga is a sub-prefecture in the prefecture of Ouham-Pendé in Central African Republic. The city must not be confused with Bocaranga I, Bocaranga II, Bocaranga III and Bocaranga IV. These are smaller villages along the road from Bocaranga to Bouar History The village of Bocaranga was ceded to German Kamerun on 4 November 1911. It went back to French Oubangi-Chari rule in 1914. In 1946 it became a district and on January 23, 1961 it became a sous-préfecture within the newly independent Central African Republic. Civil war On 23 September 2017 Bocaranga was captured by 3R rebels from Anti-balaka. It was recaptured by government forces on 7 January 2019.
