Ai Husheng
Ai Husheng (; born October 1951), also spelled as Ai Hu-shêng is a retired lieutenant general (''zhong jiang'') of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) of China. He served as Chief of Staff and Deputy Commander of the Chengdu Military Region. Biography Ai Husheng was born in October 1951. His ancestral home is Yuzhou, Henan Province. He is the son of Ai Fulin (艾福林), former political commissar of the Shenyang Military Region artillery force. He enlisted in the PLA in March 1967. He holds a master's degree in history from Liaoning University. Ai served for many years in the Shenyang Military Region, rising to commander of the 347th Regiment of the 116th Division of the 39th Group Army, later divisional commander and then chief of staff of the 39th Group Army (1999). Chengdu Military Region
The Chengdu Military Region was one of seven military districts and is located in the southwest of the People's Republic of China, covering Chongqing, Sichuan, Yunnan, Guizhou, and the Xizang/Tibet Autonomous Region. It includes some of the area previously within the Kunming Military Region and has its headquarters in Chengdu. It was probably established in 1955. The Tibet Military Region was reduced to the status of a district in 1971. The region was disbanded during the 2015 People's Republic of China military reform and become part of the Western Theater Command. Organisation In 2005, the International Institute for Strategic Studies attributed the region with some 180,000 personnel, with four motorised infantry divisions, one artillery division, two armoured brigades, one artillery brigade, and two anti-aircraft brigades. The 116th Division was a military formation of the People's Volunteer Army (Chinese People's Volunteers (CPV) during the Korean War with a standard strength of approximately 10,000 men. History The 116th Division was part of the 39th Army, consisting of the 346th, 347th, and 348th Regiments. Korean War The 116th Division was one of the first CCF divisions to attack the UN forces as they approached the Yalu River. It effectively reduced the 8th Cavalry Regiment of the 1st Cavalry Division to a combat ineffective unit, after inflicting severe losses on them at Unsan. In all, over eight hundred men of the 8th Cavalry were killed or captured—almost one-third of the regiment's strength. Liaoning () is a coastal province in Northeast China that is the smallest, southernmost, and most populous province in the region. The 18th Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party was elected by the 18th National Congress on 15 November 2012, and sat in plenary sessions until the communing of the 19th National Congress in 2017. Zhou Xiaozhou (; born October 1956) is a lieutenant general ('' zhongjiang'') of the People's Liberation Army (PLA). He was a delegate to the 11th and 12th National People's Congress. Biography Zhou was born in Chao County (now Chaohu), Anhui, in October 1956. He enlisted in the People's Liberation Army (PLA) in 1973, and joined the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) in 1976. He graduated from the PLA National Defence University. He was deputy chief of staff of the in 1998, deputy commander of the 27th Group Army in 2001, and deputy commander of the Beijing Garrison in 2003.
