Abobo
Abobo is a northern suburb of Abidjan and one of the 10 urban communes of this city in Ivory Coast. Abobo is one of the most populated communes in the country with about 1.3 million inhabitants in an area of 6,925 ha (69.25 km2), a density of 193 inhabitants per hectare. Many of the residents are Muslim settlers from the north of the country. Abidjan
Abidjan ( , ; N'Ko script, N’ko: ߊߓߌߖߊ߲߬) is the economic capital of the Ivory Coast. As of the Demographics of Ivory Coast, 2021 census, Abidjan's population was 6.3 million, which is 21.5 percent of overall population of the country, making it the sixth most populous city proper in Africa, after Lagos, Cairo, Kinshasa, Dar es Salaam, and Johannesburg. 2010–2011 Ivorian Crisis
The 2010–11 Ivorian crisis was a political crisis in Ivory Coast which began after Laurent Gbagbo, the President of Ivory Coast since 2000, was proclaimed the winner of the Ivorian election of 2010, the first election in the country in 10 years. The opposition candidate, Alassane Ouattara, and a number of countries, organisations and leaders worldwide claimed Ouattara had won the election. After months of attempted negotiation and sporadic violence, the crisis entered a decisive stage as Ouattara's forces began a military offensive in which they quickly gained control of most of the country and besieged key targets in Abidjan, the country's largest city. At the time, international organizations reported numerous human rights violations, and the UN undertook its own military action with the stated objective to protect itself and civilians. Université d'Abobo-Adjamé or the University of Abobo-Adjamé (UAA) is part of the University of Cocody, one of two public universities in Abidjan, the economic capital of Côte d'Ivoire. It is located in the Abobo, Adjamé districts of the city. Aké Loba
Gérard Aké Loba (15 August 1927 in Abobo, in the Abobo Baoule neighborhood – 3 August 2012 in Aix-en-Provence, France) was an Ivorian diplomat and writer. He won the Grand prix littéraire d'Afrique noire in 1961. He was also a member of the parliament and mayor of the town of Abobo in Abidjan from 1985 to 1990. Anyama
Anyama is a city in south-eastern Ivory Coast. It is a suburb of Abidjan and is one of four sub-prefectures of Abidjan Autonomous District. Anyama is also a commune. Attécoubé ( Ebrié: Abidjan Te) is a suburb of and one of the 10 urban communes of Abidjan, Ivory Coast. It is situated to the northwest of Abidjan's central Plateau commune, overlooking the Baie du Banco. Attécoubé has a total area of , of which is covered by forest and by Ébrié Lagoon. The commune forms part of Banco National Park. The population was 164,751 in 1988, 214,638 in 1998, and 260,911 in 2014.
