Aïchatou Boulama Kané
Aïchatou Boulama Kané (born 24 April 1953) is a Nigerien politician. She served as Minister of Foreign Affairs of Niger and later served as Minister of Planning, both in 2016. Six years later in 2022, she was Niger's ambassador to France. Early life and education Kané was born on 24 April 1953 in Keita, Niger. She was the eldest daughter among 16 siblings. After her primary education at Mainé-Soroa from 1961 to 1967, Kané attended the Lycée Mariama in Niamey where she earned a Baccalauréat série D in 1974. She pursued higher education in France at the University of Rennes 1, earning an economics degree in 1979, and later studied at the Pantheon-Sorbonne University, earning a diploma of Specialized Studies. Career Kané returned to Niger in 1983 and worked for the Ministry of Mines, Industry and Artisans. Keita, Niger
Keita is a town and commune in Niger. It is the capital of the Keita Department, within the Tahoua Region, and has an urban population of 10,631 as of 2012. Geography Keita is located north-east of the national capital, Niamey. The town is in the semi-arid Sahel, and is threatened by famine. Keita is divided into the districts of Idewaran, Lissawan and Moulela. History Keita became the ''chef-lieu'' of the eponymous canton in 1913. In 1917, Tuareg insurgents based in Italian-occupied Libya attacked and plundered the city, killing several people including canton chief Afadandan Ichawa.
