Avalanche (character)
Avalanche is the name of two fictional characters appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Each character is usually depicted as an enemy of the X-Men. The Dominikos Petrakis version of Avalanche is a Cretan mutant who possesses the ability to generate seismic waves from his hands that are strong enough to create earthquakes of varying sizes and to disintegrate any substance other than living tissue. He has been a member of the Brotherhood of Mutants and Freedom Force. The animated series '' X-Men: Evolution'' portrays a different version of Avalanche named Lance Alvers, a misguided mutant teenager and romantic love interest of the X-Men's Shadowcat. Uncanny X-Men
''Uncanny X-Men'', originally published as ''The X-Men'', is an American comic book series published by Marvel Comics since 1963, and is the longest-running series in the List of X-Men comics, X-Men comics franchise. It features a team of superheroes called the X-Men, a group of Mutant (Marvel Comics), mutants with superhuman abilities led and taught by Professor X. The title was created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, met with a lukewarm reception, and eventually became a reprints-only book in 1970. Mystique is a character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Created by writer Chris Claremont and artist David Cockrum, the character first appeared in '' Ms. Marvel'' #16 (April 1978). A member of a subspecies of humanity known as mutants who are born with superhuman abilities, Mystique is a shapeshifter who can perfectly mimic the appearance and voice of any person. Skids (comics)
Skids (Sally Blevins) is a mutant character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Created by Louise Simonson and Jackson Guice, the character debuted in ''X-Factor'' (Vol. 1) #7 (May 1986). Skids has a personal frictionless forcefield which she can project onto herself and other objects. Skids was initially a ward of X-Factor, progressing to the X-Terminators and New Mutants. She would then join the villainous groups, Mutant Liberation Front and Acolytes, before defecting back to heroics with X-Corporation and S.H.I.E.L.D.
