Aurelio Rodríguez-Vicente Carretero
Aurelio Rodríguez Vicente Carretero (1863–1917), best known simply as Aurelio Carretero, was a Spanish sculptor. Biography Born in 1863 in Medina de Rioseco (province of Valladolid), he studied at the in Valladolid and the Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando in Madrid. He spent a time in South America, where he became a renowned caricaturist. Medina de Rioseco is a municipality located in the province of Valladolid, in the autonomous community of Castile and León and Spain. According to a 2011 census ( INE), the municipality has a population of 4,967 inhabitants. The city also has the nicknames the "City of the Admirals" and "Old India Girl." The Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando (RABASF; ), located on the Calle de Alcalá in the centre of Madrid, currently functions as a museum and gallery. A public law corporation, it is integrated together with other Spanish royal academies in the . History The academy was established by royal decree in 1752.
