Auguste-Siméon Colas
Auguste-Siméon Colas Paris Foreign Missions Society, M.E.P. (29 December 1876 – 24 October 1968) was a member of Paris Foreign Missions Society and the last missionary archbishop of Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Pondicherry and Cuddalore, Archdiocese of Pondicherry. On 29 September 1930, he succeeded Archbishop Elie-Jean-Joseph Morel when the later resigned for health reasons. He was the bishop until 28 October 1955. He was succeeded by Ambrose Rayappan. Early life He was born on 29 December 1876 at the parish of Church of Saint-Sulpice, Paris, Saint-Sulpice, Paris, France. He did his early schooling at Lycée Henri-IV for two years. Then he entered the joint minor Seminary of Notre Dame des Champs. Desiring to become an official in the French army, for his secondary education he entered Lycée privé Sainte-Geneviève under the care of Jesuits. The Society of Foreign Missions of Paris (, , MEP) is a Catholic Missionary order, missionary organization. It is not a religious institute, but an organization of secular clergy, secular priests and Laity, lay persons dedicated to missionary work in foreign lands. The Society of Foreign Missions of Paris was established 1658–63. In 1659, instructions for establishment of the Paris Foreign Missions Society were given by Rome's Sacred Congregation for the Propagation of the Faith. The Diocese of Arcadiopolis (modern Lüleburgaz in East Thrace) was an ecclesiastical diocese established in the fifth century and extant until the fourteenth century. The see is first mentioned in the Council of Ephesus in 431, when Bishop Euprepius held the joint episcopacy of Bizye and Arcadiopolis. Marcel-François Lefebvre
Marcel François Marie Joseph Lefebvre (29 November 1905 – 25 March 1991) was a French Catholic prelate who served as Archbishop of Dakar from 1955 to 1962. He was a major influence in modern traditionalist Catholicism, founding in 1970 the Society of Saint Pius X (SSPX) to train traditionalist seminarians. In 1988, Pope John Paul II declared that Lefebvre had been automatically excommunicated for consecrating four bishops that year without permission and despite the pope's express prohibition. Ordained a diocesan priest in 1929, Lefebvre joined the Holy Ghost Fathers for missionary work and was assigned to teach at a seminary in Gabon in 1932. In 1947, he was appointed Vicar Apostolic of Dakar, and the next year as the apostolic nuncio to French West Africa. Ubagarasamy Bernadeth or Oubagaraswami Bernadotte or Ubagaraswamy Bernadette (12 February 1899 – 5 February 1949) was the bishop of Roman Catholic Diocese of Coimbatore from 9 Apr 1940 till his death. He was the first indigenous person from the Archdiocese of Pondicherry and Cuddalore to receive episcopal ordination. He was born in Oulgaret parish, Rettiarpalayam, Pondicherry.
