Augie Schmidt
August Robert Schmidt IV (born June 28, 1961) is the current head coach of the Carthage College baseball team. He was a minor league baseball shortstop from 1982 to 1986. Early life and college Schmidt attended Mary D. Bradford High School in Kenosha. He was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in the ninth round (230th overall) of the 1979 Major League Baseball Draft, but he did not sign with the team. Instead, he attended the University of New Orleans, where he played college baseball. In 1981 he won a gold medal as a member of the United States national team in World Games I. In 1982 he won the Golden Spikes Award, an award given to the top amateur baseball player in the United States. Minor league career Schmidt was drafted second overall in the 1982 Major League Baseball Draft by the Toronto Blue Jays. Kenosha Twins
The Kenosha Twins were a Minor League Baseball team that played in Kenosha, Wisconsin, from 1984 to 1992. They began play in the Midwest League in 1984 when the Wisconsin Rapids Twins relocated. The team played their home games at Simmons Field in Kenosha. The Twins won two Midwest League championships, in 1985 and 1987, and were Northern Division champions for the first half of the 1988 season. Gary Robert Lavelle (born January 3, 1949) is a retired professional baseball pitcher who played in Major League Baseball from 1974 to 1987. Early life and education Lavelle was born in Scranton, Pennsylvania on January 3, 1949, and grew up in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. He attended Liberty High School in Bethlehem. Major League Baseball Lavelle spent the majority of his Major League career with the San Francisco Giants, where he played from 1974 to 1984. He also played for the Toronto Blue Jays and Oakland Athletics before retiring in 1987. He posted a career high 13 wins in 1978 and accumulated 136 saves in his 13-season career. James William Gott (born August 3, 1959) is an American professional baseball pitcher and coach. Gott pitched in Major League Baseball (MLB) for 14 years for the Toronto Blue Jays, San Francisco Giants, Pittsburgh Pirates, and Los Angeles Dodgers, from 1982 to 1995.
