Attitude Era
The Attitude Era was a major era of professional wrestling within the WWE, World Wrestling Federation (WWF, now WWE). The term "WWF Attitude" was used to describe its programming from November 9, 1997 to May 6, 2002. It began during the Monday Night War, a period in which WWF's ''WWE Raw, Monday Night Raw'' (later ''Raw Is War'') went head-to-head with World Championship Wrestling's (WCW) ''WCW Monday Nitro, Monday Nitro'' in a battle for Nielsen ratings each week from September 4, 1995, to March 26, 2001. The era officially started on November 9, 1997, at Survivor Series (1997), Survivor Series 1997, when a video package aired ending with the first use of the "WWF Attitude" scratch logo. Paul Michael Levesque (; born July 27, 1969), also known by the ring name Triple H, is an American business executive and former professional wrestler. He is signed to WWE, where he serves as its chief content officer. Patricia Anne Stratigeas (; born December 18, 1975), better known by the ring name Trish Stratus, is a Canadian professional wrestler, yoga instructor, actress and former fitness model. Amy Christine Dumas (born April 14, 1975) is an American professional wrestler and singer. She is best known for her time in WWE under the ring name Lita. Chyna (born Joan Marie Laurer; December 27, 1969 – April 17, 2016), also known as Joanie Laurer, was an American professional wrestler, fitness model, bodybuilder, actress, adult actress, and television personality. Stacy Ann-Marie Keibler (born October 14, 1979) is an American retired professional wrestler, cheerleader, dancer, actress and model. She is best known for her tenure with World Championship Wrestling (WCW) and World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). Keibler began her professional wrestling career as a part of the Nitro Girls in WCW. She quickly moved on to a more prominent role in the company as the manager Miss Hancock. Tamara Lynn Sytch (born December 7, 1972), commonly known by her ring name Sunny, is an American former professional wrestling personality. Sytch was introduced to the professional industry by her longtime boyfriend Chris Candido, and debuted in the Smoky Mountain Wrestling (SMW) territory in the early 1990s. Rena Marlette Lesnar (' Greek, formerly Mero; born August 8, 1967), better known as Sable, is an American retired model, actress, and professional wrestler. She is best known for her tenures in World Wrestling Entertainment from 1996 to 1998 and from 2003 to 2004. As Sable, she gained popularity during the Attitude Era. WWE Women's Championship (1956–2010)
The 1956 to 2010 version of the WWE Women's Championship was a women's professional wrestling world championship in World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). The company claims a lineage that dates back to September 18, 1956, when The Fabulous Moolah became the third NWA World Women's Champion. WWE did not exist at that time, but they claim 1956 for the championship's establishment and do not recognize any title changes from when Moolah became champion until she lost it in 1984. Prior to Moolah losing the championship, she sold the rights to the title to the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) and it became the WWF Women's Championship, which would again be renamed in 2002 to WWE Women's Championship when the WWF was renamed to WWE.
