Atrocitus (Atros) is a supervillain appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. He is the leader of the Red Lantern Corps and an enemy of the Guardians of the Universe and Sinestro, their former Green Lantern. The Red Lantern Corps is a supervillain and sometimes anti-heroes, anti-heroic organization appearing in DC Comics. Their power is derived from the emotional spectrum relating to anger. Publication history The Red Lantern Corps debuted in ''Green Lantern'' (vol. 4) #25 (January 2008) and were created by Geoff Johns and Ethan Van Sciver. Some of their characteristics were inspired by ''28 Days Later'', one of Van Sciver's favorite films.''Blackest Night: Tales of the Corps'' #2 (July 2009) Johns describes the Red Lantern Corps as likely being "the most violent of the Corps [...] based on violent reaction driven by emotional eruption – rage – instead of any clear-cut plan of war." Black Hand (William Derek Hand) is a supervillain and a recurring foe to Hal Jordan, Green Lantern. Publication history Black Hand first appeared in ''Green Lantern'' (vol. 2) #29 (June 1964) and was created by John Broome (writer), John Broome and Gil Kane. He is based on and named after DC writer and Batman co-creator Bill Finger. Fictional character biography William Hand is born an inventive genius. His family the Hands are renowned in Coastville (a suburb of Coast City, California). However, he grows to dislike them early in life. He feels the best way to distance himself from them, especially his three brothers (David, Peter and Joe), is to start a life of crime. Sinestro
Thaal Sinestro () (or simply Sinestro) is a supervillain appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics, particularly those featuring Green Lantern. Created by John Broome and Gil Kane, Sinestro is a former Green Lantern Corps member who was dishonorably discharged for abusing his power. He has since endured as the archenemy of the superhero Green Lantern and is the founder of the Sinestro Corps. Sinestro has appeared in various forms of non-comics media including shows, films, and video games. Ted Levine, Miguel Ferrer, Xander Berkeley, Ron Perlman, Victor Garber, Jason Isaacs, and others have voiced the character in animated television series and films.
