İsmet Atlı
İsmet Atlı (1931, Çukurören, Adana – 4 April 2014, Adana) was a Turkish Olympic medalist sports wrestler in the Light heavyweight class and a trainer. He won the gold medal in Men's Freestyle wrestling at the 1960 Olympics. He was born 1931 in Çukurören village of Kozan district in Adana Province of southern Turkey. He began wrestling in 1950 and was trained by the renowned wrestlers Celal Atik and Yaşar Doğu. He performed at the national level 62 times in his wrestling career, which lasted until 1964. İsmet Atlı competed at several international wrestling events successfully in both wrestling styles and participated at three consecutive Olympic Games in 1952, 1956 and 1960. After his retirement from the active sports in 1962, İsmet Atlı acted as a trainer. He also worked as a sports journalist. Racewalker
Race walking, or racewalking, is a long-distance discipline within the sport of athletics. Although a foot race, it is different from running in that one foot must appear to be in contact with the ground at all times. Race judges carefully assess that this is maintained throughout the race. However, if there is an argument between referee, a replay video must be reviewed to judge accordingly. Typically held on either roads or running tracks, common distances range from up to 100 kilometres (62.1 mi). The current race walking contests at the Summer Olympics are the 20 kilometres race walk (men and women) and the marathon race walk mixed relay, the latter of which debuted at the 2024 Summer Olympics. Süleyman Atlı (born 27 July 1994 in Fethiye) is a Turkish freestyle wrestler competing in the 61 kg division. He is a member of Ankara ASKI. Career He won the gold medal in the 57kg event at the 2016 Yasar Dogu Tournament held in Istanbul, Turkey - Süleyman Atli defeated the European champion Giorgi Edisherashvili of Azerbaijan 15-4 in the semifinal round and beat Tsogtbaatar Damdinbazar of Mongolia in the final round.
