The men's football team played on the third tier when it was called Segunda Divisão B, being relegated in 1996–97, and later again played on the third tier until being relegated from the 2017–18 Campeonato de Portugal. Alcanena () is a Portuguese town and municipality of Ribatejo in Santarém District. The population in 2011 was 13,868, in an area of 127.33 km². The current mayor is Rui Anastácio (Partido Social Democrata) and the president of the Municipal Assembly is Silvestre Pereira (Socialist Party). The municipal holiday is Ascension Day. Cristóbal Alejandro Campos Véliz (born 27 August 1999) is a Chilean professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for San Antonio Unido in the Segunda División Profesional de Chile. Club career A product of Universidad de Chile youth system, as a young player, in 2017 Campos was loaned to Portuguese club Alcanenense, in addition to a brief test step in Sporting CP. Merih Demiral
Merih Demiral (born 5 March 1998) is a Turkish professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for Saudi Pro League club Al-Ahli and Turkish national team. Club career Early years Product of the Fenerbahçe youth system, Demiral was signed by Portuguese side Alcanenense in 2016. In January 2017, he was loaned out to Sporting B, and made his professional debut in the Segunda Liga for the latter club on 5 February 2017 in a 1–1 home draw against Famalicão.
