Atkins is a city in Benton County, Iowa, United States. The population was 2,056 at the 2020 United States census, 2020 census. It is part of the Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Cedar Rapids Cedar Rapids metropolitan area, Metropolitan Statistical Area. History Atkins was founded in 1881, following construction of the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad, Chicago, Milwaukee and St. Paul Railroad through the territory.
