Aetolia-Acarnania (, ''Aitoloakarnanía'', ) is one of the regional units of Greece. Leo Leandros
Leo Leandros (; born Leandros Papathanasiou; 23 August 1923) is a Greek musician, composer, singer, songwriter, lyricist and record producer. Biography Born on 23 August 1923 in Astakos, Leandros left in the 1950s for Germany to pursue a career in singing and composing. He had some success, but shifted his focus to his daughter, Vicky, who had been singing from a very early age. He became her manager, composer and producer when she was 13 and took charge of her training and career. Under his pseudonym Mario Panas () he was the co-composer (together with Klaus Munro) of "Après toi", the winner of the Eurovision Song Contest 1972, which Vicky performed for Luxembourg. Acarnania () is a region of west-central Greece that lies along the Ionian Sea, west of Aetolia, with the Achelous River for a boundary, and north of the gulf of Calydon, which is the entrance to the Gulf of Corinth. Bampini () is a village located in the northern part of the municipal unit of Astakos in the western part of Aetolia-Acarnania, Greece. Agrampela (, ) is an Aromanian ( Vlach) village and a community of the Xiromero municipality. Since the 2011 local government reform it was part of the municipality Astakos, of which it was a municipal district. The 2021 census recorded 58 residents in the village. Xiromero () is a municipality in the Aetolia-Acarnania regional unit, West Greece region, Greece. The seat of the municipality is the town Astakos. Its borders do not coincide with the historical region of Xiromero, which extends to parts of the territory of the neighbouring municipality of Aktio-Vonitsa and most notably the area around Katouna. The municipality has an area of 590.113 km2. The Ionian Sea (, ; or , ; , ) is an elongated bay of the Mediterranean Sea. The Acarnanian Mountains (, ''Akarnanika ori'') is a mountain range in the northwestern part of the Aetolia-Acarnania regional unit in western Greece. It stretches from the village Monastiraki, near Vonitsa, in the north to Astakos in the south, with a total length of nearly 40 km. The Ionian Sea lies to the west. Peaks The mountains are composed of limestone and are generally barren with the exception of the northern faces. Astacus (Acarnania) .
Astacus or Astakos () was a town on the west coast of ancient Acarnania, on a bay, one side of which is formed by the promontory anciently named Crithote. Astacus is said to have been a colony of Cephallenia. At the commencement of the Peloponnesian War, it was governed by a tyrant, named Evarchus, who was deposed by the Athenians in 431 BCE, but was shortly afterwards restored by the Corinthians. It is mentioned as one of the towns of Acarnania in a Greek inscription, the date of which is subsequent to 219 BCE. Since the 2011 local government reform it was part of the municipality Astakos, of which it was a municipal district. The 2021 census recorded 319 residents in the community.
