Associação Desportiva Iguatu, commonly known as Iguatu, is a Brazilian football club based in Iguatu, Ceará state, which currently compete in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série D, the fourth division of Brazilian football, as well as the Campeonato Cearense, the top tier of the Ceará state league. History Founded on 11 March 2010, Iguatu intended to register the club in the year's Campeonato Cearense Série C, but only started playing professionally in 2012. They won the third division in their first professional year, achieving promotion to the Campeonato Cearense Série B, where they remained for two years before suffering relegation. Iguatu only returned to the second division of the Cearense in 2015, after finishing third in the Série C. 2023 Campeonato Brasileiro Série D
The 2023 Campeonato Brasileiro Série D was a football competition held in Brazil, equivalent to the fourth division. The competition began on 6 May and ended on 16 September 2023. Sixty-four teams competed in the tournament. Sixty teams qualified from their state leagues and cups, and four relegated from the 2022 Campeonato Brasileiro Série C ( Atlético Cearense, Brasil de Pelotas, Campinense and Ferroviário). The four semi-finalists, Athletic, Caxias, Ferroviária and Ferroviário, were promoted to the 2024 Campeonato Brasileiro Série C. In the finals, Ferroviário won their second title after defeating Ferroviária 2–1 on aggregate. Ferroviário finished the tournament without a single defeat. The 2022 Campeonato Cearense (officially the Cearense 1XBET 2022 for sponsorship reasons) was the 108th edition of Ceará's top professional football league organized by FCF. The competition began on 8 January and ended on 23 April 2022. After Sportradar found evidence of match fixing, on 16 February 2022, the FCF and the Tribunal de Justiça Desportiva do Futebol do Ceará (TJDF-CE) decided to suspend Crato from the tournament. Therefore, the last match of the first stage Crato v Ferroviário, scheduled for 19 February 2022, was not played and Ferroviário was awarded a 3–0 win.
