Associação Atlética Portuguesa, commonly referred to as Portuguesa Santista, is a professional football club based in Santos, São Paulo, Brazil. The team competes in Campeonato Paulista Série A2, the second tier of the São Paulo state football league. Founded in 1917 by the Portuguese descendants of the city, they play in predominantly red and green colors, being the use of those colors inspired on the main colors displayed by the Portuguese flag. The club's nickname, Briosa, was given between 1918 and 1920, when the club competed in several amateur football festivals. Briosa means courageous, graceful, in Portuguese. Estádio Ulrico Mursa
Estádio Ulrico Mursa is a football (soccer) stadium located in Santos, São Paulo state, Brazil. The stadium was built in 1920 and is able to hold approximately 7,600 people. The stadium is owned by Associação Atlética Portuguesa and its formal name honors Ulrico Mursa, who was Companhia Docas de Santos director. History In 1920, the club already owned a groundplot. The Torneio Início Paulista () was a traditional tournament that took place in Brazil marking the start date of the state championships. Campeonato Paulista Série A4 (previous known as Campeonato Paulista Segunda Divisão) is the fourth tier of the professional state football league in the Brazilian state of São Paulo. The Copa Paulista de Futebol, formerly known as Copa FPF, also sometimes called Copa Federação Paulista de Futebol or, in English, São Paulo State Cup, is a tournament organized by Federação Paulista de Futebol Company every second half of the season. Santos Futebol Clube () is a Brazilian sports club based in Vila Belmiro, a ''bairro'' in the city of Santos. The Copa do Brasil () is a knockout football competition played by 92 teams, representing all 26 Brazilian states plus the Federal District.
