Association Solidarité Féminine
''Association Solidarité Féminine'' (ASF) is a non-profit organization founded by rights activist Aïcha Chenna in Casablanca, Morocco in 1985. The association helps single mothers gain work experience by training them at the association's restaurant, patisserie, and ''Turkish bath, hammam''. History In 1985, ASF was created in Casablanca, Morocco. In 1988, the association's first center opened its doors in Tizi Ouasli. Ech-Chenna was awarded the Medal of Honor by King Mohammed VI of Morocco, Mohammed VI in 2000, followed by the Elisabeth Norgall Prize in 2005, the ''Opus Prize'', and the ''Dona d'el Ano'' award in 2009.. In 2013, Ech-Chenna was also honored with the Legion of Honour, being named a Knight of the French Republic. Aïcha Chenna
Aïcha Chenna (, also Romanized as Aïcha Ech-Chenna; 14 August 1941 – 25 September 2022) was a Moroccan social worker, women's rights advocate and activist. A registered nurse, she began working with disadvantaged women as an employee of the country's Ministry of Health (Morocco), Ministry of Health. In 1985, she founded the Association Solidarité Féminine (ASF), a Casablanca-based charity that assists single mothers and victims of abuse. Chenna received various humanitarian awards for her work, including the 2009 Opus Prize (worth United States dollar, US$1 million). Amal Women's Training Center and Moroccan Restaurant (; ) is a non-profit organization in Marrakesh, Morocco, that helps disadvantaged women gain work experience by training them in the preparation of Moroccan cuisine, Moroccan food and Global cuisine, international food. The center was established in 2012 by Nora Belahcen Fitzgerald. Each year between 30 and 40 women complete four to six months of training, which often leads to them finding employment in a relevant field.
