Asprochoma, Larissa
Asprochoma ( el, Ασπρόχωμα, ) is a village of the Elassona municipality. Before the 2011 local government reform it was part of the municipality of Olympos. The 2011 census recorded 106 inhabitants in the village. Asprochoma is a part of the community of Lofos. Population According to the 2011 census, the population of the settlement of Asprochoma was 106 people, an increase of almost 12% compared with the population of the previous census of 2001. Thessaly
Thessaly ( el, Θεσσαλία, translit=Thessalía, ; ancient Thessalian: , ) is a traditional geographic and modern administrative region of Greece, comprising most of the ancient region of the same name. Larissa ( el, Περιφερειακή ενότητα Λάρισας) is one of the regional units of Greece. It is part of the region of Thessaly. Its capital is the city of Larissa. Total population 269,151 (2021). Geography Larissa is the second largest regional unit in Greece, exceeded only by Aetolia-Acarnania. It covers about one-third of Thessaly. It borders the regional units of Kozani to the northwest, Pieria to the northeast, the Aegean Sea to the east, Magnesia to the southeast, Phthiotis to the south, Karditsa to the southwest and Trikala to the west. The tallest mountain in Greece, Mount Olympus (2,917 m) is situated in the northeastern part of the regional unit. Mount Ossa is situated in the east, at the Aegean coast. Elassona
Elassona ( el, Ελασσόνα; Katharevousa: gr, Ἐλασσών, Elasson) is a town and a municipality in the Larissa regional unit in Greece. During antiquity Elassona was called Oloosson (Ὀλοοσσών) and was a town of the Perrhaebi tribe. It is situated at the foot of Mount Olympus. Elassona is bypassed by the GR-3 ( Larissa - Kozani - Florina). Olympos (Greek: Όλυμπος) is a former municipality in the Larissa regional unit, Thessaly, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Elassona, of which it is a municipal unit. Population 3,164 (2011). The municipal unit has an area of 303.964 km2. The seat of the municipality was in Kallithea. The municipality was named after the nation's highest point, Mount Olympus. Vehicle Registration Plates Of Greece
Greek vehicle registration plates are composed of three letters and four digits per plate (e.g. ΑΑΑ–1000) printed in black on a white background. The letters represent the district ( prefecture) that issues the plates while the numbers range from 1000 to 9999. As of 2004 a blue strip was added on the left showing the country code of Greece (GR) in white text and the Flag of Europe in yellow. Similar plates but of square size with numbers ranging from 1 to 999 are issued for motorcycles which exceed 50 cc in engine size. Lofos ( el, Λόφος, ) is a village and a community of the Elassona municipality. Before the 2011 local government reform it was a part of the municipality of Olympos. The community of Lofos covers an area of 23.674 km2. History The settlement was recorded as a village with the name , in the Ottoman '' tahrir defter'' (number 101) of 1521. The village was known as () until 1957, when it was renamed to . Until the exchange of populations in 1924 and the arrival of the refugees from Pontus, mainly from Erbaa and Niksar, the village was inhabited by local Muslims.
