Asian Open Figure Skating Classic
The Asian Open Figure Skating Classic was a figure skating competition planned to be inaugurated in October 2019 in Taipei City, Taiwan. The competition was categorized as an ISU Challenger Series event. On July 22, 2019, the International Skating Union revoked the Chinese Taipei Skating Union's right to hold the competition. The event was replaced with the Hong Kong Skating Union's Asian Open Figure Skating Trophy, originally scheduled to be held in August in Dongguan, China. The Challenger Series event would have awarded medals in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, and ice dance. Asian Figure Skating Trophy
The Asian Open Figure Skating Trophy (or ''Asian Trophy''; previously known as the Asian Figure Skating Championships) is an annual figure skating competition sanctioned by the Asian Skating Union. Skaters compete in the disciplines of men's and ladies' singles across three levels: senior, junior, and novice. Following an ASU meeting in Changchun, China during the 6th Asian Winter Games 2007, the ASU revised the name of the competition from the Asian Figure Skating Championships to the Asian Figure Skating Trophy, with the International Skating Union approving the change. Single Skating
Single skating is a discipline of figure skating in which male and female skaters compete individually. Men's singles and women's singles are governed by the International Skating Union (ISU). Figure skating is the oldest winter sport contested at the Olympics, with men's and women's single skating appearing as two of the four figure skating events at the 1908 Summer Olympics, London Games in 1908. Ice Dance
Ice dance (sometimes referred to as ice dancing) is a discipline of figure skating that historically draws from ballroom dancing. It joined the World Figure Skating Championships in 1952, and became a Winter Olympic Games medal sport in 1976.
