Asdrúbal Trouxe O Trombone
Asdrúbal Trouxe o Trombone is the name of a Brazilian theatrical group that operated in the 1970s with a comedic and anarchic style. History Until the middle of the 1970s, ''Asdrúbal trouxe o trombone ('') was just an code phrase between actress Regina Casé and her father, Brazilian TV pioneer to leave when there was an inconvenience during a meeting or the mood in a party was fading. In these cases, he would say to her "Olha, o Asdrúbal trouxe o trombone", and they would quickly leave the situation. With influences from Monty Python, and led by Casé and Hamilton Vaz Pereira in Rio de Janeiro in 1974, it was made up of a theatre group that helped to create a new generation of talent for Brazilian theatre. Regina Casé
Regina Maria Barreto Casé OMC (born 25 February 1954) is a Brazilian actress, screenwriter, director, producer, and television presenter. Career In 1974, Casé, together with Hamilton Vaz Pereira, Jorge Alberto Soares, Luiz Arthur Peixoto e Daniel Dantas, founded a theater company called Asdrúbal Trouxe o Trombone ("Asdrúbal brought the trombone") in Rio de Janeiro. The group was influential in the cultural scene of Rio in the late 1970s. The group's debut production was an adaptation of '' The Inspector General'' by Nikolai Gogol. For her performance in that production, Casé won the Governor's Prize for breakout actress. Another important production was ''Trate-me Leão'' in 1977, which won the Molière Prize. Hamilton de Souza Pinto Vaz Pereira (born 10 December 1951) is a Brazilian director, author, actor, composer, and musical director. ''The Government Inspector'', also known as ''The Inspector General'' (, literally: "Inspector"), is a satirical play by Russian dramatist and novelist Nikolai Gogol. Originally published in 1836, the play was revised for an 1842 edition. Luiz Fernando Guimarães (born November 28, 1949, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) is a Brazilian actor.
